Silica, mesostructured (MCM-41) is a part of low-density organized mesoporous silicate system which has a 2D hexagonal phase, prepared in the presence of quaternary ammonium halide surfactant. It has ordered and large pores with diameter in the range 1.5-10 nm and specific surface area of 1500 m 2 /g.
